Midwest Wrestling Tour Events – Season in Review
The Midwest Wrestling Tour (MWT) encompassed the Gopher State Nationals, the Badgerland Nationals, Hawkeye Nationals and the inaugural Jackrabbit Nationals showcased the phenomenal youth wrestling that the Upper Midwest has to offer. Highlighting the Tour is the prized MWT Belt, which will be presented to wrestlers who place 1st-6th at 3 of the 4 MWT events. 
 
The 2015-16 season of the Midwest Wrestling Tour (MWT) has come to an end. Listed below are some highlights from the past season.

  • The 2015-16 season was made up the Hawkeye Nationals (Waterloo, IA), Jackrabbit Nationals (Brookings, SD), Badgerland Nationals (La Crosse, WI) and the Gopher State Nationals (Monticello, MN)
  • Wrestlers from 20 different states competed in the 2015-16 MWT events.
  • A total of 202 wrestlers earned the coveted MWT Belt.
  • A total of 252 singlets were awarded to the champions at all three of the MWT events.
  • Every match at each of the MWT events were streamed live via Trackcast.
  • The Badgerland Nationals was featured on a local television newscast in La Crosse, WI.
  • The Jackrabbit Nationals drew 500 wrestlers in just the first year
  • The 2016 Hawkeye Nationals tournament had 70 more wrestlers participate than the previous year.
  • Gopher State drew 1000+ wrestlers as it consistently does.
  • We have built some great momentum as we begin to plan for the 2016-17 season.

MWT Recognition Breakdown:
                                    Total Wrestlers:           1,760 
                                    Belt-Winners:               202  (11% of overall participation)
                                    All-Americans:              20       (1% of overall participation)
                                    Hall of Fame:               9        (.5% of overall participation)
