Can wrestlers from any state participate?
Does a wrestler have to qualify?
No, 100% open registration. Simply register on or before the entry deadline.
Can a wrestler participate in two weight classes at the same tournament?
Wrestlers cannot wrestle in two weight classes on the same day. A wrestler could wrestle in the 5th & 6th grade division on Saturday and also up in the 7th & 8th grade division on Sunday (as an example).
If a wrestler is wrestling on Saturday and Sunday, do they need to weigh-in both days?
Do I need a membership to participate in the MWT events?
No. All that is required is that the wrestler has some form of health insurance.
Does a wrestler have to wrestle in all 3 Midwest Wrestling Tour events?
No, wrestlers can choose to participate in 1, 2 or all 3 events.
How does a wrestler win a MWT Belt?
Wrestlers must participate in three of four MWT events and place 1-4 in each MWT event to win a belt. Belts will be awarded to the wrestlers who earn them at either the Buffalo or Gopher State Nationals tournament.
Does a wrestler need to wrestle at the same weight in every event to be eligible to win a belt?
Can a wrestler change the weight they registered for?
Yes, but it has to be done before the entry deadline.
What happens if a wrestler does not make the weight they registered for?
We do not re-bracket any wrestlers who do not make weight.
Wrestlers who are heavier than the weight they registered for will be disqualified and will not receive a refund.
How does someone get a coach pass?
Simply pay for the coaching wristband the day of your tournament. Anyone on the mat floor will need a coaching wristband.
